A vector PDF content or vector data contained in PDF documents is represented by content that can be adjusted according to the media device it's displayed or printed on. Because of it's parametrical nature e.g. it can be defined using drawing operations supported by PDF, it differs from the raster data that has a static representation and can't be adjusted without the loss of quality. But purely vector documents are rare as document authors tend to include raster data in supported formats, such as photographs or scanned images.
